What's the project about, I'm curious. This gives me a very Hylics Vibe actually, so that's why I'm curious
EDIT: You could always make a game now, no time like the present to begin

Its just an asset for an animated intro for my cousin's glass blowing business. Its heavily mixed media. Including clay, watercolor, low rez graphics like this. The clay will also be dithered. I really dig Hylics as well, but my pull to dithering comes more from an idea that I had in high school regarding the coloring of pencil sketches. I was on the Parnassus crew, which was a creative art journal, and someone had asked me to color in a pencil sketch of theirs, I wasn't happy with how it turned out and I had figured that if the image was converted to pure black and pure white, with the white pixels removed, then the colors could be more easily added behind the remaining black dots. I think I had gotten the dithering idea from the Macintosh port of The King of Chicago, I'm not that old I just am really into retro games. (Ironically that game is black and white) I do intend on making a game with dithered graphics, but it will have to wait for me to finish college. (The dithering program that I use on my sketches for the initial raw black and white step is ditherlicious, the color dithering is done by hand.)
He became the very thing he once swore to slay, his soul warping his body to reveal his true form. This is how beasts are birthed.
whoah, heavy stuff pal. appreciate the stellar comment!

Story behind him? He's got a swag design
Thank you! He's just my persona as a skeleton lol
The eyes see it all.
And they judge with immense disgust.
The design is really cool indeed, though the actual character's spiriting needed some work. It's a bit too rough with it's shading style in specific being highly inconsistent. But you can always improve upon that. If you need more specialized feedback on how to do that, just ask. But mainly it's about making the shading feel more organic and now having the mask have an entirely different style to the rest of the body.
As well as it's obvious you're trying really hard to keep the character within a certain bounds and therefore making the design feel compressed. Also I see some blatant artifacting and the image itself is compressed. Don't export to JPG, export to PNG instead. That should fix that issue
Fire's nice. You did a good job there. Overall, it's rough but I do like the design alot. So in future you should remake and clean this one up. :D
The Asshole dimension. Beautiful.
yeah, it sounds like a pretty lousy place but it probably looks alright!

How long did it take? Also it looks really quite nice as it cuts through the sky, what inspired you to make this?
I said not to ask :P Somewhere between 40-50 hours, a lot of time was spent learning though.
A mix of things. Style/colour pallette is just my preferred look that I think is related to Adventure Time and those style of cartoons, the creature itself was partially inspired by Shadow of the Colossus and similar 'giant creature' aesthetics, but also (mostly) by a fantastic art piece by an artist named 'Kaya Odaker'
Here's a link to some of their work, the piece in question is the giant moon creature: https://twitter.com/Kayas_Kosmos/status/1266851689568571404
The holy man fights to save mankind. At any cost
you bet! appreciate the comment and hope he's here to stay!
*holy highfives
Pretty interesting to see the light touch of feelings in the scene. As if he's either exhausted or apathetic, while she's trying to let him know she cares in a stubborn way. And the "spotlight" fading to dark adding to that feeling.
It's interesting. And the way it's composed works really well, a good interpretation of animate stylings right into pixel art with a strong color palette
Thank you! Your impression is very close, I'd say spot on :) Makes me happy I managed to translate those feelings to the canvas.
A bloody Seraph gazes upon you with it's halo, beware. (Damn cool, the wings could use some light clean up but that's about it. Also adding some highlights to the bloody orbs to give off the indication it's liquid would really work)
Also since you made an angel, I wanted to show you one I made earlier today, I think you'd really like it. The Thunderous Virtue

Thanks for the feedback mate! Yeah this was mostly practice with wings and lighting for me but I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out
